Churches & Historical Buildings

Revitalize & Revamp Your Church

Churches and historical buildings are very special to New Life Crew, LLC – and they constitute a sizable portion of the buildings we refurbish. As a construction company rooted in a Christian church-based ministry, we naturally take pride in restoring churches to a state of renewed beauty. And as lifelong Vermonters we cherish the historical buildings that are imbued with the charm and antiquity of our state, culture and land.

New Life Crew, LLC performs every ilk of carpentry, remodeling and additions on churches, steeples and historic buildings – from kitchen, bathroom, and basement remodels to deck, single room, and second story additions. We also conduct interior and exterior painting, which includes the prep work of refurbishing your old paint job, removing and repairing any wood rot, and rebuilding any structural damage before we apply the new paint. In the end, both our carpentry and painting work results in an entirely revitalized and revamped look for your church, alongside enhanced and expanded livability.

An Ecclesiastical Purpose

Our founder, Pastor Pete Fiske, has spent several decades ministering to correctional facility inmates, inspiring them with Biblical guidance, wisdom and the compassion they need to turn their lives towards a higher purpose and a greater good. New Life Crew, LLC is the result of Pastor Pete’s work with ex-inmates who seek employment and a renewed life in the society of men. Restoring churches to their original glory is one way Pastor Pete and his crew show their appreciation to God for the opportunity to live free, benevolent and charitable lives.

Historical Buildings of Vermont

Although Vermont was not formally one of the 13 original US colonies, during the time of our country’s formation the land area of Vermont did exist, subsumed within the province of New Hampshire. Amidst land disputes between various states the Green Mountain Boys defended the area, and in 1777 Vermont became the 14th state of the union. Due to its longstanding history, Vermont features many homes, churches and businesses that are refurbished historical buildings – or are in need of renovation!

Wide wood plank floors, post and beam construction, and cedar quarter-sawn clapboard siding are common features of historic Vermont architecture. However, Vermont is probably most famous for its preponderance of red barns that adorn green grassy meadows populated by cows. Connected to many Vermont barns are farmhouses that were designed to be continuous with the barn to make livestock chores easier during the frigid winter months. Covered wood bridges – most of which were built before steel was readily available – are another of Vermont’s iconic features, and are truly an impressive feat of architectural ingenuity.

The Hyde Log Cabin

Built in Grand Isle, Vermont in 1783, The Hyde Log Cabin is believed to be one of the oldest log cabins in the United States. Constructed with peeled cedar logs and a garbled roof, it represents some of the earliest architecture used by the original settlers of Vermont.
